How to Draw a Magazine
Draw a magazine in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cover.
Step 1: The cover
In the middle of your paper draw a tall box, as tall as your hand. This is the front cover.
Tip Go round twice lightly, then once firmly.
Step 2: The pages
Behind the cover, a thumb to the right, draw the same box, with 2 page lines from top to bottom.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes above the middle of the cover. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The cover photo
Around the face draw a box with rounded corners, a finger in from the cover's sides.
Step 6: The title band
A thumb down from the top of the cover, draw a line from the left edge across to the right.
Step 7: The title
In the title band draw one long fat rounded bar, nearly side to side, for the big title.
Step 8: Headlines
Under the photo draw 3 short lines across the cover, like rows of words.
Step 9: Sparkles
Add 4 little sparkle stars in the air around the magazine, not touching it.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a long ground line under the magazine, from one side of your paper to the other.
Step 11: Yellow title, pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the big title yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Red band, blue photo
Colour the band red around the title and the photo light blue around the face, leaving the eyes white.
Step 13: Cream cover
Colour the cover cream around the band and the photo, and the pages cream too. Ready to read!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a magazine, drawn by you.
