How to Draw Blowing Dandelion Seeds

Step 1: The head

Near the top, a little right of the middle, draw an egg head, narrower at the chin.

Tip The seeds blow away to the left.

Step 2: Face with puffed lips

Draw 2 round eyes with black dots and eyelash flicks. Add a tiny nose and a small O mouth, blowing.

Step 3: Hair, fringe and bob

Start on the left by the eyebrows. Draw hair over the top, stop on the right. Add a fringe.

Tip Add hair hanging past each cheek to the jaw.

Step 4: Neck and dress

Start under the chin with 2 neck lines. Draw a dress, wide at the knees, ending at the other neck.

Step 5: Arms

From the left sleeve draw an arm down to an elbow and up by the hair. The right arm hangs.

Tip Make each arm thinner at the wrist than at the sleeve.

Step 6: Hands

Start at the left wrist and draw a round fist back to it, with a thumb line.

Tip The right arm ends in a plain round hand.

Step 7: Dandelion

From the fist draw a stem up to a bumpy puff. Add 12 thin lines, each ending in a fan.

Tip Start the lines from a tiny middle circle and stop them before the bumpy edge.

Step 8: Seeds blowing away

Left of the puff draw 3 floating seeds: a dot, a thin stalk and a fan of fluff on top.

Step 9: Legs, shoes and ground

Start on the hem and draw 2 legs down, stop above the ground. Add shoes and a ground line.

Step 10: Cream puff, tan stem

Go over your lines. Colour the fluffy puff cream, and the stem and tiny middle tan.

Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks.

Tip Keep the eyes white.

Step 12: Red shoes

Colour the shoes red.

Step 13: Green dress, brown hair

Colour the dress green around the arms, and the hair brown around the puff. You're done!
