How to Draw a Blacksmith
Draw a blacksmith in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. Start a C ear on each side, ending on the head.
Step 3: Headband and beard
Draw a headband across the forehead with 2 tails off the right. Add a U beard from ear to ear.
Step 4: The shirt
Start at the beard's left side. Draw a shirt with short sleeves, ending at the beard's right side.
Step 5: Leather apron
On the shirt draw an apron: a top below the beard, sides sloping down to the knees. Add 2 straps.
Step 6: Long sleeves
Rub out the sleeve ends. From each shoulder draw an arm with a soft elbow, stopping at the wrist.
Step 7: Hands
On the right wrist draw a round hand with a thumb bump. On the left wrist draw a closed fist.
Step 8: Big hammer
Start on the left fist. Draw 2 close lines up, leaning out, and stop at a chunky hammer head.
Step 9: Trousers and shoes
From the shirt's left end, draw trousers with 2 legs to the shirt's right end. Add 2 shoes.
Tip Draw a ground line under the shoes.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the head, ears and hands peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Grey shirt, red headband
Colour the shirt, sleeves and hammer head grey, and the headband red.
Step 12: Wood beard, brown apron
Colour the beard and hammer handle wood brown, and the apron brown.
Step 13: Slate trousers, black shoes
Colour the trousers slate grey and the shoes black. Your blacksmith is done!
