How to Draw a Christmas Tree with Presents

Step 1: The top tier

Start at a point near the top. Slant down left, draw 4 bumps across, and slant up to the point.

Tip Keep the tree in the top part of your page. The presents go below.

Step 2: The middle tier

Start under the top tier, near the left. Slant down and out, draw 5 bumps across, slant up to it.

Step 3: The bottom tier

Start under the middle tier, near the left. Slant down and out, draw 6 bumps across, slant up to it.

Tip Each tier is wider than the one above it.

Step 4: The trunk

Under the middle, start on the bumps and draw a long trunk: down, across, back up to the bumps.

Tip Make the trunk long, so the presents fit beside it.

Step 5: A star on top

On the very top point, draw a 5-point star, sitting on the point.

Step 6: Garlands

On each tier, start on the left edge and draw one swooping curve that sags across to the right edge.

Step 7: Ornaments

Hang round ornaments above each garland: 1 in the top tier, 3 in the middle, 3 in the bottom.

Step 8: The floor

Along the trunk's bottom, draw a long floor line, much wider than the tree.

Step 9: Two tall presents

On each side, draw a tall box standing on the floor. Add a ribbon up the middle and a bow.

Tip A bow is 2 teardrop loops that meet in a point on top of the box.

Step 10: Two small presents

Between each tall box and the trunk, draw a smaller box with a ribbon and a bow.

Step 11: Yellow star and bows

Start with the lightest colour. Colour the star, the 4 ribbons and the 4 bows yellow.

Step 12: Red presents

Colour the 7 ornaments and the 2 tall presents red, around the yellow ribbons.

Step 13: Blue presents

Colour the 2 small presents blue, around the yellow ribbons.

Step 14: Green tree

Colour all 3 tiers green, around the ornaments. Colour the trunk brown. Your Christmas tree is ready!
