How to Draw a Birthday Balloon Arch
Draw a birthday balloon arch in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the doorway.
Step 1: The doorway
Start on the ground on the left. Go up, across the top, and down to the ground on the right.
Tip A balloon arch is a big rainbow of balloons over a party door.
Step 2: The door
Inside the doorway draw a tall box door. Add a small round knob and 2 panels, short above tall.
Step 3: Balloons up the left
Start on the ground left of the doorway. Draw round balloons, each touching the last, up to the top corner.
Tip Make some a bit bigger and some a bit smaller.
Step 4: Balloons over the top
Keep the balloons going over the top of the doorway, still touching, to the other top corner.
Step 5: Balloons down the right
Bring the balloons down the right side to the ground, so the arch lands on both sides.
Step 6: Confetti
Above and beside the arch draw a few bits of floating confetti: tiny circles and short dashes.
Step 7: The ground
Draw the ground line from edge to edge under the doorway, touching the bottom balloons.
Step 8: Yellow balloons
Go over your lines. Colour every third balloon yellow, starting at the bottom left, and the confetti dots.
Step 9: Sky balloons
Colour the balloon after each yellow one sky blue.
Step 10: Pink balloons
Colour the rest of the balloons pink.
Step 11: Frame and door
Colour the frame sand and the whole door wood brown. Your balloon arch is done!

Your finished drawing
