How to Draw a Wanted Poster
Draw a wanted poster in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the old paper.
Step 1: The old paper
Draw a tall sheet of paper with straight sides. Cut a small V nick into each side.
Tip The nicks make the paper look old and torn.
Step 2: Start of WANTED
Start near the top left. Write a tall W, then A, then N. Stop at the middle.
Tip Leave room at the very top for a nail.
Step 3: End of WANTED
Start at the middle. Write T, E and D just as tall. Stop near the right side.
Tip Now the top says WANTED.
Step 4: The picture box
Under the word draw a big square in the middle of the paper for the picture.
Step 5: Cowboy hat
In the box draw a wide curved brim. Start on it, draw a crown, stop on it. Add a band.
Tip Give the top of the crown a small dip.
Step 6: Head and shoulders
Start under the brim. Draw a round U face back up to the brim. Add shoulders down to the box.
Step 7: Friendly face
Draw 2 round eyes, coloured black with a tiny white shine. Add a small U smile under them.
Step 8: Start of REWARD
Start under the box on the left. Write R, E and W in smaller capital letters.
Step 9: End of REWARD
Carry on with A, R and D. Stop under the right side of the box.
Tip Now the bottom says REWARD.
Step 10: The nail
At the very top, in the middle, draw a small round nail holding the poster up.
Step 11: Cream and peach
Go over your lines. Colour the picture box cream around the cowboy. Colour the face peach, going round the eyes.
Step 12: Sand and red
Colour the paper sand, going around the letters and the picture box. Colour the shirt and hat band red.
Step 13: Brown hat
Colour the hat brown and the nail grey. Your wanted poster is done!
