How to Draw a Birch Tree
Draw a birch tree in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the leafy top.
Step 1: The leafy top
Start on the left, above the middle. Draw a tall bumpy rainbow up and over, ending level on the right.
Step 2: Bumps underneath
Start where the rainbow ended. Draw 4 shallow bumps across to the left until you meet the other end.
Step 3: The trunk
Start under the leaves, left of the middle. Draw a line down to near the bottom. Same on the right.
Step 4: Two short branches
Start on the trunk just under the leaves. Draw a short branch up into the leaves. Same on the right.
Tip Rub out the trunk line inside each branch.
Step 5: Bark marks
Down the trunk draw 5 short thin dashes, each a little way in from an edge, left then right.
Step 6: The ground
Start well left of the tree. Draw a flat ground line to well right, under the trunk.
Step 7: Three grass blades
Draw 3 short grass blades up from the ground, 2 left of the trunk and 1 on the right.
Step 8: Green leaves
Colour the whole leafy top green, right up to the bumpy edge.
Step 9: White trunk
Colour the trunk and branches white, going round the marks.
Step 10: Black marks
Colour the bark marks black. Go over your lines and your birch tree is done!
