How to Draw a Dutch Oven
Draw a dutch oven in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: domed lid.
Step 1: Domed lid
Draw a wide low hill above the middle. Close it underneath with a wide smile line.
Tip The hill is much wider than it is tall.
Step 2: Heavy pot
From each end of the lid draw a line down. Curve in and join them with a wide round bottom.
Tip Keep the pot short and wide.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the pot draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 4: Lid edge
Start on the left edge of the lid. Draw a second smile just above the first, to the right edge.
Step 5: Round knob
On top of the lid draw a short neck, then a round flat knob sitting on it.
Step 6: Loop handles
On each side of the pot draw a fat loop sticking out. Start and stop on the pot.
Step 7: Handle holes
Inside each loop draw a smaller loop for the hole. Start and stop on the pot.
Step 8: Lid ring
Start on the left side of the hill, halfway up. Draw a smile across to the right side.
Step 9: Smile and cheeks
Between the eyes, a little lower, draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek near each end.
Step 10: Table and shadow
Under the pot draw a flat oval shadow. Draw a table line out from each side of it.
Step 11: Pink and grey
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the knob and the shadow under the pot grey.
Step 12: Red enamel
Go over your lines. Colour the lid, the pot and both handles red, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
