How to Draw a Bell Tent
Draw a bell tent in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tent.
Step 1: The tent
Draw a tall cone on a short wall, sticking out past it. Draw the wall top, leaving a middle gap.
Tip A bell tent is one tall cone on a short wall.
Step 2: Pole and top
Start at the point of the tent. Draw a pole straight up, stopping at a small ball on its tip.
Step 3: The doorway
Start on the bottom, left of the middle. Draw a tall curve up to a round top under the pole.
Step 4: The door flap
From the arch top swing a curve out right and down to the bottom, like a sail, then back up.
Step 5: Seams
On each side, start on the wall line and slant a seam up, stopping a little below the pole.
Step 6: The ground
Draw the ground line from the tent out to each edge of the paper.
Step 7: Ropes and pegs
From each corner where the cone sticks out, draw a rope slanting far out to a triangle peg.
Step 8: A lantern
On the left wall hang a small box lantern from the wall top, with a handle loop and a cap.
Step 9: The sun
Draw a sun with short rays in the top right corner.
Step 10: Cream canvas
Go over your lines, then colour the tent cream, leaving the doorway and lantern for later.
Step 11: Yellow lantern and sun
Colour the lantern and the sun yellow.
Step 12: Dark doorway
Colour the doorway and the lantern cap dark slate, and your bell tent is done!
