How to Draw a Beignet
Draw a beignet in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
In the middle of your paper draw a big flat oval plate, across most of the page.
Step 2: The front pillow
Draw a puffy pillow on the plate. Start on the right side, go all round, stop before the top-right corner.
Tip A beignet is a puffy square doughnut. Leave a gap for the bite.
Step 3: A bite
From the top line down to the right side, draw 2 round scoops, then a curve inside them.
Step 4: A pillow behind
Behind it on the left, a little higher, draw a smaller pillow, tucked behind the front one.
Step 5: Another behind
Behind on the right, a little higher, draw another small pillow, tucked behind the front one.
Step 6: A shadow
Under the pillows draw a long thin flat oval on the plate for their shadow.
Step 7: The table
Draw a line under the plate from left to right, just touching its bottom.
Step 8: Powdered sugar
High on the front pillow draw a bumpy line from its left side to the bite, for powdered sugar.
Step 9: More sugar
High on each pillow behind draw a bumpy sugar line, from side to side.
Step 10: Cream inside
Go over your lines, then colour the bite cream. Leave the sugar white.
Step 11: Tan beignets
Colour the 3 pillows tan below the sugar, going around the bite.
Step 12: Blue plate
Colour the plate sky blue around the beignets and the shadow, then the shadow grey. Your beignets are done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a beignet, drawn by you.
