How to Draw a Bean Bag Chair

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a bean bag chair in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the squishy bag.

Print

  1. Step 1: The squishy bag

Draw a big soft lump, wide at the bottom, with a tall round back on the left.

Tip Wobble the line: a bean bag is never perfectly round.

  2. Step 2: The seat dip

Start on the right slope of the back. Draw a big U down and round, stopping at the right edge.

Tip This dip is where you sit, so make it big.

  3. Step 3: 2 big eyes

Below the seat draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.

  5. Step 5: Soft wrinkles

Start on the bottom edge of the dip. Draw 2 short soft curves up into the seat.

  6. Step 6: 2 seams

Start at the top left and at the seat's right end. Draw a seam down each side to the bottom.

  7. Step 7: The label

Low on the left, between the edge and the seam, draw a small square label.

  8. Step 8: The floor

Start well left of the bag. Draw a straight floor line under it, stopping well to the right.

  9. Step 9: Pink and cream

Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the label cream.

  10. Step 10: Purple bag

Colour the bag purple around the cheeks and label, leaving the eyes white. Now flop into it!
