How to Draw a Beagle

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a beagle in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top draw a big oval head, a little wider than tall. It is almost half the beagle.

Tip Leave room underneath for the body and legs.

  2. Step 2: Long floppy ears

From each top corner draw a long floppy ear down past the chin, curling in to touch the cheek.

Tip Beagle ears are the longest: soft and velvety, hanging below the chin.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Below the middle of the head draw 2 eggy eyes, a gap apart. Add big black dots with tiny shines.

  4. Step 4: Snout and nose

Under the eyes draw a wide oval snout inside the head. Sit a black triangle nose on top, point down.

  5. Step 5: Smile and tongue

From the nose draw a short line down to a w smile. Hang a small U tongue from the middle.

  6. Step 6: The body

From under each ear draw a big C down for the body, ending low. Join them with a sagging line.

Tip The body is a bit wider than the head.

  7. Step 7: White chest

Start under the left cheek. Draw a big U down the chest and back up, stopping under the right cheek.

  8. Step 8: Front legs

From the chest draw 2 long U legs down to the ground. Add 2 toe lines on each paw.

  9. Step 9: Back paws and tail

Draw a hill paw at each bottom corner. From the right side draw a thick tail up to a tip.

  10. Step 10: Stripe and ground

Draw 2 lines down the middle of the face, from the head top to the snout. Add a ground line.

  11. Step 11: Tan head, pink tongue

Colour the head and tail tan, and the tongue pink. Leave the stripe, snout, chest, legs and tail tip white.

Tip Leave the eyes white too.

  12. Step 12: Brown ears

Colour the 2 long ears brown.

  13. Step 13: Black saddle

Colour the sides of the body black for the saddle, around the brown ears.
