How to Draw Beads

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw beads in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the thread.

Print

  1. Step 1: The thread

Start near the top left. Draw a big U down and round, and stop near the top right.

Tip Make the U big so the beads have room.

  2. Step 2: The big middle bead

At the bottom of the U draw 1 big round bead with the thread going through it.

  3. Step 3: Two eyes

On the big bead draw 2 round eyes with a little gap between, each with a black dot.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a tiny U smile, and colour 2 small pink cheeks just below the eyes.

  5. Step 5: Two round beads

On each side of the big bead draw a smaller round bead sitting on the thread.

  6. Step 6: Two oval beads

Further up each side draw a long oval bead lying along the thread.

  7. Step 7: Two square beads

Higher up draw a rounded square bead on each side, turned to follow the thread.

  8. Step 8: Top bead and knot

Near the left end draw 1 more round bead, then a tiny solid black knot at the very end.

  9. Step 9: The needle

At the right end draw 1 more bead, then a thin pointy needle with a long hole near its bottom.

Tip The thread goes into the round end of the needle, and the sharp point sticks up.

  10. Step 10: Sparkles

Draw 3 sparkle stars in the empty spaces, like plus signs with curvy arms.

  11. Step 11: Yellow beads and stars

Go over your lines, then colour the oval beads, the bead by the knot and the sparkles yellow.

  12. Step 12: Red beads

Colour the big bead red, going around the face, and the 2 square beads red. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Blue beads, grey needle

Colour the 2 round beads and the bead by the needle blue, and the needle grey around its hole.
