How to Draw a Beach with an Umbrella
Draw a beach with an umbrella in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the umbrella top.
Step 1: The umbrella top
On the left, start low and draw a big rainbow hill up and over. Stop level with where you started.
Step 2: Bumpy edge
Start at the right end of the hill. Draw 6 fat round bumps along the bottom to the left end.
Step 3: Ribs and tip
From the top, draw 5 lines down to the dips between the bumps. Add a short spike with a ball.
Step 4: The pole
From the middle dip, draw 2 lines straight down, a finger apart. Join them low on the paper.
Step 5: Sea and shore
Draw a sea line from the left edge, behind the umbrella, over to the right. Add a wavy shore below.
Tip The sand is everything below the wavy line.
Step 6: Waves
On the sea, right of the umbrella, draw 2 short wavy lines.
Step 7: A beach ball
On the sand, right of the pole, draw a big round ball. Add 2 curved lines for a stripe.
Step 8: Shell and starfish
Near the bottom of the sand, draw a little fan shell with 3 lines, and a small starfish.
Step 9: Sun and gulls
In the top right corner, draw a round sun with 8 short rays. Add 2 flat M gulls beside it.
Step 10: Red and yellow umbrella
Colour the umbrella panels red and yellow, taking turns, from left to right.
Step 11: Blue sea, sandy beach
Colour the sea blue, going around the umbrella and pole. Colour the sand below the wavy line, going around everything.
Step 12: Red ball, orange starfish
Colour the middle stripe of the ball red, leaving the sides white, and the starfish orange.
Step 13: Yellow sun, wood pole
Colour the sun yellow and the pole wood brown. Go over your lines and your beach is done!
