How to Draw a Sun and Clouds
Draw a sun and clouds in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the round sun.
Step 1: The round sun
Start at the lower left. Draw a big round sun up over the top and stop at the lower right.
Tip Leave the bottom open. Two clouds will cover the gap.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the sun draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots and white shines.
Step 3: A big smile
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from under the left eye across to the right eye.
Step 4: Big puffy cloud
Across the gap draw a big cloud: 5 round bumps over the top and a flat line underneath.
Tip The tallest bump touches the left end of the sun.
Step 5: A smaller cloud
Start on the big cloud's right side. Draw 4 bumps over to the right and a flat line back.
Tip Its tallest bump touches the right end of the sun.
Step 6: Five sun rays
Around the top of the sun draw 5 pointy triangle rays, spaced evenly, each starting on the circle.
Step 7: Sparkle lines
Between the rays, a little way out, draw 4 short straight sparkle lines pointing away from the sun.
Step 8: Rosy cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour a pink cheek beside the smile on each side. Leave both clouds white.
Step 9: Yellow sun
Colour the sun yellow, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Orange rays
Colour all 5 rays orange, and your sun and clouds are done!
