How to Draw a Basketball Net
Draw a basketball net in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the backboard.
Step 1: The backboard
Near the top draw a big wide box with soft corners. Put a small box in its top middle.
Step 2: The rim
Start on the left, just under the backboard. Draw a wide flat oval for the rim and join it up.
Step 3: The ball
Draw a round ball going through the rim. Add 2 big eyes with a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Start under the left eye and stop under the right. Add 2 cheeks.
Step 5: Ball seams
Draw a short line from the top of the ball down to the eyes. Add a seam down each side.
Step 6: The net
Draw a slanted line down from each end of the rim. Join the bottoms with a small flat oval.
Step 7: Net strings
Inside the net draw 4 lines slanting one way and 4 slanting the other way.
Step 8: Pole and ground
Start under the ball and draw 2 close lines down through the net. Stop on a long ground line.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw a sparkle star on each side of the backboard. Each one has 4 points like a plus sign.
Step 10: Yellow stars, pink cheeks
Colour the sparkle stars yellow and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes and the backboard white.
Step 11: Orange ball
Colour the ball orange, going around the eyes and cheeks.
Step 12: Red rim, grey pole
Colour the rim red around the ball and the pole grey. Go over your lines. Swish!
