How to Draw a Basketball Jersey
Draw a basketball jersey in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: v-neck and shoulders.
Step 1: V-neck and shoulders
Draw a V neck with a rainbow on top. From each corner draw a strap out to a round shoulder.
Tip Round off each shoulder, with no point sticking up.
Step 2: Scooped armholes
Start at each shoulder's end and draw a big scoop curving in and back out. Stop at the armpit.
Tip A basketball jersey has no sleeves: the armholes are big and deep.
Step 3: Body
Start at the left armpit. Draw down a hand, a sagging hem across, then up to the right armpit.
Step 4: Big number 10
On the chest draw a big hollow 10: a tall box with a flag, then a thick ring beside it.
Step 5: Armhole bands
Start on each strap near the shoulder. Follow the armhole round and stop on the side under the armpit.
Step 6: Collar and hem bands
Inside the neck draw a V from arm to arm. Above the hem draw a curve that touches both sides.
Tip The hem band is a shallow U from side to side, a finger up.
Step 7: Closet rod
Well above the collar draw a long skinny closet rod with round ends, wider than the jersey.
Step 8: Hanger and hook
From each neck corner draw a wire up to a point. Then draw a hook up and over the rod.
Tip Take the hook up in front of the rod, over the top, and tuck its end behind.
Step 9: Side stripes
Start under each armhole band, close to the side, and draw a line down to the hem band.
Step 10: Yellow trim
Go over your lines. Colour the collar, armhole and hem bands yellow, and leave the side stripes white.
Step 11: Purple jersey
Colour the jersey purple around the yellow bands, the white side stripes and the numbers. Your jersey is done!
