How to Draw a Barreleye
Draw a barreleye in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: fat fish body.
Step 1: Fat fish body
Start on the right. Draw over a tall head to the snout, then a round tummy. Stop under the start.
Tip Leave the right end open for the tail.
Step 2: See-through dome
Start on the back behind the head. Draw a curve down and forward, stopping on the snout.
Tip A barreleye's head is clear like a bubble. You can see inside it!
Step 3: Barrel eyes
Inside the dome draw 2 tall ovals. Add a black dot and a small shine near the top of each.
Tip The eyes sit inside the head and look up through it.
Step 4: Little smile
Start on the snout tip. Draw a short smile curving back and up.
Step 5: Forked tail
Start at the back's end. Draw a tail with 2 points and a notch between them. Close it.
Step 6: Back fin
Near the tail draw 1 round fin on the back. Start and stop on the back line.
Step 7: Two belly fins
Under the tummy draw 2 round fins. Start and stop each on the tummy line.
Step 8: Side fin
Behind the head, below the middle, draw a small leaf for the side fin pointing back.
Step 9: Light blue dome
Go over your lines. Colour the dome light blue, around the 2 eyes.
Step 10: Green eyes
Colour the 2 barrel eyes bright green, around the black dots.
Step 11: Tan fins
Colour the tail and the 4 fins tan.
Step 12: Brown body
Colour the rest of the body brown, around the side fin. Your barreleye is done!
