How to Draw a Tiger Cub Sleeping

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a tiger cub sleeping in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big head

On the left, draw a big head like a wide egg, a little wider at the cheeks.

Tip Leave room on the right for the curled-up body.

  2. Step 2: Round ears

On each top corner of the head, draw a round ear with a small curve inside.

Tip Tiger ears are round, not pointed.

  3. Step 3: Sleepy eyes

Across the middle of the head, draw 2 closed eyes, each a round U, well apart.

  4. Step 4: Muzzle and nose

Low on the face, draw a wide oval muzzle. Add a small triangle nose and a W smile.

Tip The nose sits at the top of the oval, and the smile hangs from it.

  5. Step 5: Big paws

Draw a ground line. Under the chin, draw 2 big round paws on it, with 2 toe lines each.

Tip Cubs have paws that look too big for them.

  6. Step 6: Curled body

Start under the right ear. Draw a big round hill over to the right, and stop at the ground.

Tip The hill is about as tall as the head.

  7. Step 7: Back leg

Start on the ground under the middle of the body. Draw a round hump up and over to the back.

  8. Step 8: Long tail

From the back end, draw a long tail lying along the ground, with its tip curling up by the paws.

Tip Rub out the body line inside the tail.

  9. Step 9: Head stripes

Draw 3 black stripes hanging from the top of the head, and 2 on each cheek.

Tip Each stripe is a thin triangle that starts on the outline.

  10. Step 10: Body stripes

Draw 4 black stripes pointing in from the back. Colour 3 black rings and a black tip on the tail.

  11. Step 11: Sleepy zzz

Above the body, draw 3 little z's floating up, each one a bit bigger.

  12. Step 12: Cream and pink

Go over your lines. Colour the muzzle and the ear middles cream, and the nose pink.

  13. Step 13: Orange fur

Colour the tiger cub orange, going around the stripes, the muzzle and the ear middles.
