How to Draw a Parrotfish
Draw a parrotfish in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: eye and mouth line.
Step 1: Eye and mouth line
Draw one huge round eye left of the middle, with a shine. In front, draw a short wavy mouth line.
Tip A parrotfish has a hard beak like a parrot, not lips.
Step 2: Beak, forehead and back
From the mouth's front tip, draw a beak bump up to a dent. Sweep over the eye to a neck.
Step 3: Lower beak and tummy
From the tip, draw a beak bump down and a long tummy. Stop at the neck. Curve the beak's edge.
Step 4: Crescent tail
From the back, draw a horn up, scooping in to a dent. Draw another horn down to the tummy.
Step 5: Long top fin
Start on the back above the eye. Draw a long low fin along the back and stop near the neck.
Step 6: Gill and side fin
Draw a short C behind the eye. From it, draw a fan fin pointing back, then back to the C.
Step 7: Belly fin
Under the tummy, start on the tummy line. Draw a small fin down and back, then up to the tummy.
Step 8: Big scales
Above the side fin, draw 3 U scales in a row. Tuck 2 more under them, like roof tiles.
Step 9: Bubbles
In front of the face, draw 3 bubbles floating up: small, bigger, biggest.
Step 10: Sand and seaweed
Near the bottom, draw a wavy sand line from edge to edge. Stand 3 wiggly seaweed leaves on it.
Step 11: Cream beak, sandy floor
Colour the beak cream. Colour the floor under the sand line sandy, out to the edges.
Step 12: Blue bubbles, pink fins
Colour the bubbles light blue, and the tail and all the fins pink.
Step 13: Teal fish, green seaweed
Colour the body teal around the beak and fins, and the seaweed green. Leave the eye white.
