How to Draw a Banana
Draw a banana in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top curve.
Step 1: The top curve
Start high on the left. Draw a long smile curve down through the middle and back up to the right.
Tip Make it a big smooth curve, not a V.
Step 2: The bottom curve
Start at the left end of the smile. Draw a fatter smile under it and stop at the right end.
Tip Thin at both ends, fattest in the middle: a banana is a bent sausage.
Step 3: The stem
At the left end draw a short stubby stem poking up and out, like a little chimney.
Step 4: The dark tip
Near the right end draw a short curve across the banana for the dark tip.
Step 5: Peel ridges
Inside the banana draw 2 long curves from near the stem to near the tip, following the bend.
Step 6: A shine
Right of the middle, just under the top line, draw a thin curved sliver for a shine.
Step 7: Freckles
Dot 3 freckles on the banana, one big, one middle and one small, away from the lines.
Step 8: The ground
Draw one straight ground line under the banana, just touching its lowest point, from well left to well right.
Tip The banana rests on its fat middle; the ends curl up.
Step 9: Yellow banana
Go over your lines, then colour the banana yellow. Leave the dark tip for brown and the shine white.
Step 10: Brown stem and tip
Colour the stem and the dark tip brown. Your banana is done!
