How to Draw a Banana Split

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a banana split in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the dish rim.

Print

  1. Step 1: The dish rim

A little below the middle, draw a long flat oval, almost as wide as the page, for the dish rim.

  2. Step 2: The boat

From the left end of the oval, draw a shallow U down and round, ending at the right end.

  3. Step 3: Foot and table

From the bottom of the dish, draw 2 lines flaring down, and stop on a long flat table line.

  4. Step 4: Two scoops

On the rim, draw 2 big round scoops, one left and one right, each with a wavy drippy bottom.

  5. Step 5: Middle scoop

Between them, draw a third scoop, a little bigger and higher, tucked behind the other 2.

  6. Step 6: The banana

Across the front of the dish, draw a long smile-shaped banana, tips up, with a line along its middle.

Tip The banana is split down the middle, so you see one long half.

  7. Step 7: Cream and cherry

Draw a cream hill from the middle scoop's left, stopping on its right. Add a cherry, stem and leaf.

  8. Step 8: Sauce

Start under the left end of the cream. Draw 3 fat sauce drips, and stop under its right end.

  9. Step 9: Sprinkles

Draw 6 little sausage sprinkles, 3 on the left scoop and 3 on the right, tilted different ways.

  10. Step 10: Cream and yellow

Go over your lines. Colour the middle scoop cream around the sauce. Colour the banana and 3 sprinkles yellow.

  11. Step 11: Pink scoop, sky dish

Colour the left scoop pink around its sprinkles. Colour the dish, foot and other 3 sprinkles sky blue.

  12. Step 12: Red cherry, green leaf

Colour the cherry red with a little white shine, and the leaf green. Leave the whipped cream white.

  13. Step 13: Brown scoop and sauce

Colour the right scoop brown around its sprinkles. Colour the sauce brown too. Your banana split is done!
