How to Draw a Baby
Draw a baby in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big head.
Step 1: The big head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big round egg for the head, nearly half the page tall.
Tip A baby's head is huge compared with its body.
Step 2: Eyes and smile
Below the middle of the head, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Under them, draw a small smile.
Step 3: Curl and ears
On top of the head, draw a little curl swirling up. Each C ear starts and stops on the head.
Step 4: Dummy
Over the middle of the smile, draw a small sideways oval for the dummy, with a tiny ring under it.
Tip Rub out the smile line inside the dummy, so only its happy corners show.
Step 5: The onesie
Start under the chin. Draw a fat round bag for the body, back up to the chin. Add a collar.
Step 6: Little arms
From each side, draw a fat arm sloping down to a mitten with a thumb, back to the body.
Step 7: Sleeve cuffs
Draw a short cuff curve across each arm, from side to side, where the mitten begins.
Step 8: Legs and booties
Start low on the body. Draw 2 short fat legs with booties, toes pointing out, back up to the body.
Step 9: Snaps and ground
Draw 3 tiny snaps in a straight row low on the onesie, and a long ground line under the booties.
Step 10: Colour the onesie
Colour the onesie, collar, sleeves and booties sky blue and the dummy yellow.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink and the face, ears and hands peach around them. Go over your lines!
Tip Keep the eyes white.
