How to Draw a Baby Penguin
Draw a baby penguin in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big egg, a little wider near the bottom. Make it big!
Tip Almost half the penguin. Leave room below for the body and feet.
Step 2: White face mask
Inside the head draw a big sideways egg for the white face, a thumb in from the head line.
Tip Leave a thick black cap on top and a thinner band round the sides, like a hood.
Step 3: Tiny beak
In the lower half of the white face draw a tiny rounded triangle beak, point down.
Tip Leave room above the beak for the eyes.
Step 4: Two big eyes
Above the beak draw 2 big egg eyes with a gap between. Fill them in black, leaving a white speck.
Tip Leave the speck near the top of each eye, it makes them shine.
Step 5: Fluffy tuft
On top of the head draw 3 round fluffy bumps, starting and stopping on the head line.
Tip Make the middle bump the tallest.
Step 6: The body
Start on the left cheek. Draw a big fat egg body down and round, back up to the right cheek.
Tip A little wider than the head and fattest near the bottom.
Step 7: Two little flippers
Start on each side of the body under the cheek. Draw a short flipper out to a tip and back.
Tip A fat paddle, an eye and a half wide.
Step 8: Fluffy chest
A finger under the head, between the flippers, draw 3 little U's in a row, then 2 more below.
Step 9: Two feet
Under the body draw 2 wide feet with a gap between, each with 3 round toe bumps.
Tip The feet poke up a little over the bottom line. Rub out inside them.
Step 10: Snow
Start near the left side. Draw a gently bumpy snow line through the bottom of the toes, to the right.
Tip Rub it out inside the feet. Add 2 snowflakes of 3 crossing lines.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, grey body
Go over your lines. Colour 2 pink cheeks beside the beak, then colour the fluffy body grey.
Step 12: Dark flippers and feet
Colour the 2 flippers and both feet dark grey.
Step 13: Black hood and beak
Colour the head and tuft black around the white face, then colour the tiny beak black.
