How to Draw a Wombat
Draw a wombat in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big blunt head.
Step 1: Big blunt head
On the left of your paper, draw a big round block head with a flat top and a blunt front.
Step 2: Two small ears
On the head top at the back, draw a small rounded ear with an oval inside. Add one peeking behind.
Step 3: Big nose pad
Over the front of the head, draw a big round nose pad. Colour it black and leave a white shine.
Tip A wombat's nose is wide and bare, much bigger than a dog's.
Step 4: One big eye
Behind the nose, high on the head, draw one big round eye. Colour a black dot and leave a shine.
Step 5: Little smile
Start on the front of the head under the nose. Draw a short smile and stop well before the eye.
Step 6: Barrel body
From the back of the head, draw a big barrel body with a round bottom. Stop under the head.
Tip No tail: a wombat's bottom is round and blunt.
Step 7: Front leg
Start under the head. Draw a short thick leg down to a round paw, and stop on the tummy.
Tip Rub out the body line inside the leg.
Step 8: Back leg
Start on the tummy near the back. Draw a short thick leg and round paw, and stop on the bottom.
Tip Rub out the body line inside the leg.
Step 9: Far legs
Draw 2 more legs peeking out from behind the first two. Keep all 4 paws flat and level.
Step 10: Toe lines
Draw short toe lines on each paw: 2 on the big paws and 1 on each paw peeking behind.
Step 11: Ground line
Start left of the front paw and draw a straight ground line under all 4 paws, past the back paw.
Step 12: Tan ear
Colour the inside of the front ear tan.
Step 13: Brown fur
Colour the head, ears, body and legs brown, around the black nose and the tan. Leave the eye white.
