How to Draw an Aardwolf

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw an aardwolf in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round head

Near the top left, draw a big round head a little wider than tall. Leave room for a snout.

  2. Step 2: Pointed snout

Start high on the head's front. Draw a long pointy snout, ending low on the head. Add a black nose.

Tip Keep the snout long and thin, like a fox.

  3. Step 3: Big pointed ears

On top of the head, draw 2 big pointed ears, one peeking behind the other. Add a triangle inside each.

  4. Step 4: Eye and smile

Draw a big eye above the snout, with a dot and shine. Draw a smile from under the nose.

  5. Step 5: Sloping body

From behind the head, slope the back down to a round bottom, then the tummy and chest to the chin.

Tip The shoulders are higher than the bottom.

  6. Step 6: Legs and ground

Draw the ground. From the chest, draw a leg to a round paw. Under the bottom, add a bent leg.

  7. Step 7: Far legs

Draw a thin far leg peeking out behind each near leg, down to a paw on the ground.

Tip Only draw the parts you can see.

  8. Step 8: Bushy tail

From the back end, draw a bushy tail down to a point. Add a curve across the tip.

  9. Step 9: Hairy mane

Start behind the head. Draw soft bumps along the back for a hairy mane, and stop at the tail.

Tip The hair stands up along the back, like a brush.

  10. Step 10: Side stripes

Draw 4 bold stripes down the side. Start each under the back and stop before the tummy.

Tip Keep every stripe inside the body.

  11. Step 11: Peach ear insides

Colour the inside of each ear peach. Leave the eye white.

  12. Step 12: Sandy aardwolf

Go over your lines. Colour the aardwolf sand, around the ear insides. Leave the mane and tail tip for later.

  13. Step 13: Slate mane

Colour the mane and the tail tip slate.
