How to Draw Grass
Draw grass in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tallest blade.
Step 1: The tallest blade
Near the bottom in the middle, draw a tall thin blade straight up to a sharp point.
Tip Every blade is one long closed shape, wide at the bottom and pointed at the top.
Step 2: 2 short front blades
At the bottom of the tall blade, draw a short blade curving out each side. Stop at the tall blade.
Step 3: A tall blade left
Behind them, draw another tall blade leaning left. Stop where it meets the blades in front.
Tip Blades at the back peek out between the ones in front.
Step 4: A tall blade right
Draw a tall blade leaning right the same way, a little shorter. Stop at the blades in front.
Step 5: A blade bending left
From the bottom, draw a long blade curving out left with its tip bending down. Stop at the front blades.
Step 6: A blade bending right
Draw a long blade curving out right the same way, its tip bending down. Stop at the front blades.
Step 7: 2 short side blades
Low down on each side, draw a short blade curving far out, peeking from behind the others.
Step 8: The ground
Start near the left edge and draw a ground line through the bottom of the grass to the right edge.
Step 9: Light green front
Colour the tall middle blade and the 2 short front blades light green.
Step 10: Dark green back
Colour the other blades dark green, around the light green ones. Go over your lines and your grass is done!
