How to Draw a Bactrian Camel
Draw a Bactrian camel in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left, draw a big egg head, taller than it is wide. Leave room on the right.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big eyes with lashes high on the head. Add a snout with 2 slit nostrils and a smile.
Tip Let the snout hang wider than the chin, like a camel's droopy lips.
Step 3: The ears
On each side near the top of the head, draw a small round ear poking out, with an oval inside.
Step 4: The neck
From the snout's side, draw a line down to the smile's level. From under the snout, draw a longer one.
Tip Both lines slope down to the right, toward the body you draw next.
Step 5: The body
From the neck, draw a big bean body with 2 round humps on top, a round bottom and a tummy.
Tip Two humps the same height, with a soft dip between them.
Step 6: Two legs
Draw a ground line. Add a knobbly-kneed front leg and a back leg, each with a flat hoof.
Tip A hoof is like a little doorstop, flat on the ground.
Step 7: The far legs
Add the 2 far legs peeking out, a bit thinner: one behind the front leg, one before the back leg.
Step 8: The tail
From the top corner of the bottom, draw a thin tail hanging down, with a leaf-shaped tuft on the end.
Step 9: Peach and sand
Go over your lines. Colour the ear insides peach and the snout sand.
Step 10: Colour it brown
Colour the camel brown around the ear insides and snout. Skip the hooves and tuft. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Tuft and hooves
Colour the tail tuft and the hooves dark brown. Your camel is done!
