How to Draw an Arrowhead
Draw an arrowhead in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: left edge.
Step 1: Left edge
Start at the top middle for the tip. Draw a long, gently bowed line down and out to the left.
Tip An arrowhead is a pointed stone, chipped sharp long ago.
Step 2: Right edge
Start at the tip. Draw the same bowed line down the right side and stop level with the left corner.
Step 3: Two notches
Start at each bottom corner. Draw a small C that cuts in towards the middle, and stop a little lower.
Tip The notches are where string tied the stone to the arrow.
Step 4: Base sides
From the end of each notch draw a short line straight down.
Step 5: Base bottom
Start at the bottom of the left line. Draw one gently curved line across and stop at the right line.
Tip Let the line rise a little in the middle.
Step 6: Left chips
Inside the left edge draw 4 curved bumps in a row, each one starting and ending on the edge.
Tip Each bump is a flake of stone that was chipped off.
Step 7: Right chips
Draw the same 4 bumps inside the right edge, each one starting and ending on the edge.
Step 8: Base chips
On the bottom line draw 2 small bumps, one each side, starting and ending on the line.
Step 9: Light grey middle
Go over your lines. Colour the big middle part light grey, leaving the bumps along the edges.
Step 10: Dark grey chips
Colour the 10 chips along the edges dark grey. Your stone arrowhead is done!
