How to Draw an Armchair
Draw an armchair in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the back.
Step 1: The back
Start a little below the middle. Draw a tall upside-down U, a hand wide, and stop level with the start.
Tip Leave the bottom open, the cushion closes it later.
Step 2: Two arms
On each side of the back draw an arm: a hump up and out, then straight down past the back.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes on the back, above its middle. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The cushion
Between the arms draw a soft cushion with a puffy top from arm to arm, flat along the bottom.
Step 6: The base
Under the cushion draw a flat band from the left arm's bottom to the right arm's bottom.
Step 7: Two feet
Under the base draw 2 short square feet, one near each end.
Step 8: The floor
Draw a floor line under the feet, starting past the left end and stopping past the right end.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Cream cushion, wood feet
Colour the seat cushion cream and the feet wood brown.
Step 11: Red armchair
Colour the back, arms and base red, around the cheeks and cushion. Leave the eyes white. Your armchair is done!
