How to Draw an Ark

Draw an ark in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big hull.

Step 1: The big hull
Draw a huge wide boat: a dipping deck, a big round U hull, and a rim line under the deck.
Tip Make it below the middle, almost as wide as the paper.
Step 2: House and roof
On the deck, draw a big box house, leaving room each side. Add a pointed roof poking past the walls.
Step 3: Door and windows
In the middle of the house, draw a tall door with a round top, and a round window each side.
Step 4: Giraffe's neck
From the roof's left slope, draw a tall neck up and back down to the roof. Add 2 spots.
Step 5: Giraffe's head
On the neck, draw a round head with a leaf ear on each side and 2 knobs on top.
Step 6: Giraffe's face
Draw 2 big eyes with black dots, and an oval snout with a smile near the bottom of the head.
Step 7: The plank
Draw a straight plank line across the hull, from one side of the boat to the other.
Step 8: The waves
Draw a row of wave bumps across the page over the hull's bottom, and a second row lower down.
Tip Rub out the bottom of the hull under the top wave.
Step 9: The sun
In the top left corner, draw a small circle for the sun with 8 short rays all around.
Step 10: A dove
In the top right, draw a little flying dove: egg body, pointed tail, wing up, a leaf in its beak.
Step 11: Yellow sun, giraffe
Colour the sun and the giraffe yellow, around the snout, knobs and spots. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Cream house, sky windows
Colour the house cream, going around the door and windows. Colour the windows sky blue.
Step 13: Blue sea, green leaf
Colour the sea blue from the top wave down to the bottom. Colour the dove's leaf green.
Step 14: Red door, brown hull
Colour the door red. Colour the hull, the roof and the giraffe's snout, knobs and spots brown.
