How to Draw a Gondola Lift
Draw a gondola lift in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cabin.
Step 1: The cabin
In the middle of your paper draw a box a little wider than tall, with soft round corners.
Tip Leave lots of room above for the arm and cable.
Step 2: Brim roof
Start at the box's top right corner. Draw a flat rainbow roof with round ends to the top left corner.
Tip The roof sticks out at both ends like a hat brim.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front of the cabin draw 2 big round eyes a finger apart. Add a black dot and shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye, draw a U smile, stop under the right eye. Add 2 oval cheeks.
Step 5: Two windows
Beside the face draw a tall thin window at each edge of the box, with round corners.
Tip Leave a gap between each window and the face.
Step 6: Arm, wheel and cable
Draw a thick arm up from the roof to a round wheel. Rule a cable across, through the wheel's middle.
Tip The wheel rolls along the cable up the mountain.
Step 7: Snowy mountains
Along the bottom draw a zigzag of mountain peaks from edge to edge. Add snow caps on the 2 tallest.
Tip Leave a gap between the cabin and the peaks.
Step 8: Sky windows, stone mountains
Colour the 2 windows sky blue. Colour the mountains stone grey, leaving the snow caps white.
Step 9: Yellow roof, pink cheeks
Colour the roof yellow and the 2 cheeks pink.
Step 10: Grey arm, red cabin
Colour the arm and wheel grey. Colour the box red around the windows, eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
