How to Draw a Sea Slug
Draw a sea slug in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long body, frilly skirt.
Step 1: Long body, frilly skirt
From the bottom left, draw a long bean, round in front, down to a pointy tail. Add frilly bumps underneath.
Tip A sea slug has no shell, just a fancy frilly edge.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the front of the body, draw 2 big egg eyes with a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Open smile, cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a line. Hang a U from one end down to the other. Add tongue and cheeks.
Step 4: Two club horns
On the head, draw a club horn, a thin stalk with a round knob. Add another peeking out behind.
Tip The horns are how a sea slug smells the water.
Step 5: Gill flower
Near the tail, draw a little flower of round petals on the back, well inside the outline.
Tip That flower is the sea slug's gills: it breathes through it.
Step 6: Spots
Scatter 3 round spots of different sizes over the body, well inside it, away from the face and flower.
Step 7: Sand and bubbles
Draw a long sand line under the skirt, right across your paper. Above the flower, draw 3 bubbles floating up.
Step 8: Pink tongue, sandy floor
Colour the tongue and both cheeks pink. Colour the sand under the line sandy yellow, right to the edges.
Step 9: Orange horns and flower
Colour the two horns and the gill flower orange.
Step 10: Orange spots
Colour the three spots orange too.
Step 11: Blue bubbles, red mouth
Colour the three bubbles water blue. Colour the inside of the mouth red, around the pink tongue.
Step 12: Purple body
Go over your lines. Colour the body purple, around the flower, spots, cheeks and mouth. Leave the eyes white.
