Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Egg head

On the left draw an egg lying on its side. This is the lead goose's head.

Tip Keep it small: the body and wings need lots of room.

  2. Step 2: Pointed bill

From the front of the head draw a pointed bill, out to a tip and back to the head.

Tip A short line from the tip is the mouth.

  3. Step 3: Eye and cheek

Add a round eye with a black dot. Behind it, curve a line from the chin up to the back.

  4. Step 4: Long neck

From the back of the head draw 2 long lines to the right, spreading apart. Join them with a curve.

Tip A flying goose stretches its neck straight out in front.

  5. Step 5: Body and tail

From the top neck line draw a long egg body with a pointed tail. Join it to the lower line.

  6. Step 6: Big raised wing

From the back draw a big wing up, round 4 feather tips, and back down to the back.

  7. Step 7: Other wing, foot

From the back draw the other wing up to the big wing. Tuck a small foot under the tail.

  8. Step 8: Two geese behind

Behind the leader draw 2 smaller geese, one higher, one lower. Draw each as one outline, bill tip to tail.

  9. Step 9: Two more geese

Further back draw 2 even smaller geese, each as one outline, to finish the V.

Tip The 5 geese make a V on its side, pointing the way they fly.

  10. Step 10: Four small wings

From each small goose's back draw a wing up to a tip and back down. Add 4 neck lines.

  11. Step 11: Low sun and trees

Start at the left and draw a ground line across to the right. Add half a sun and 3 trees.

Tip Each bare tree is a stick with a V of 2 branches.

  12. Step 12: Yellow sun, sandy geese

Go over your lines. Colour the sun yellow and all 5 goose bodies a pale sand colour.

  13. Step 13: Brown wings

    Colour all 6 wings brown.

  14. Step 14: Dark heads and necks

Colour the heads, necks, bills and foot dark grey. Leave the leader's cheek patch white.
