How to Draw a Beaver Dam
Draw a beaver dam in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide head.
Step 1: Wide head
Near the top of your paper draw a wide head with fat cheeks, as wide as your palm.
Tip The body will be bigger than the head.
Step 2: Ears, nose patch
On top of the head draw 2 round ears. Low on the face draw a wide oval with a nose.
Step 3: Eyes, smile and teeth
Draw 2 big eyes above the oval. From the nose draw a line into a smile. Hang 2 buck teeth.
Step 4: Whiskers
On each side, start on the oval and draw 2 short whiskers out toward the cheek, stopping before the edge.
Step 5: Big round body
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big fat pear body down and round, up to the right cheek.
Step 6: Arms and paws
From each side of the body draw an arm sloping in to a plump mitten paw on the tummy.
Step 7: Two webbed feet
Low on each side of the body, draw a short round foot pointing down and out, with 3 toe bumps.
Step 8: Flat paddle tail
Behind the body on the right draw a big flat oval tail sticking up. Cover it with criss-cross lines.
Step 9: Log dam
Behind the beaver, stack 3 long logs with round ends, each one shorter than the log below.
Step 10: Water
Draw a wavy water line from edge to edge, just under the feet and over the bottom log.
Step 11: Cream nose, sand tummy
Colour the nose patch cream. Colour the tummy and the log ends light sand. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Tan logs, blue water
Colour the logs tan, around the log ends. Colour the water blue, right to the edges.
Step 13: Brown fur, grey tail
Colour the head, ears, arms and feet brown, around the nose patch and eyes. Colour the tail dark grey.
