How to Draw an Aquarium
Draw an aquarium in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the glass tank.
Step 1: The glass tank
In the middle of your paper draw a big box for the tank, wider than it is tall.
Step 2: Lid and stand
On top of the tank draw a flat lid with rounded corners. Under the tank draw a flat stand.
Step 3: Water line
Start on the left side of the tank, below the top. Draw a wavy line and stop on the right.
Step 4: Gravel and pebbles
Start near the bottom on the left. Draw a bumpy gravel line and stop on the right. Add 3 pebbles.
Step 5: Water plants
From the gravel on the left draw 3 tall pointed leaves like flames. Draw 2 more on the right.
Step 6: The big fish
In the middle of the water draw a big fish facing right: a fat egg body and a fan tail.
Tip The fish is the star: make it big.
Step 7: Fish face and fin
Give the big fish a round eye with a black dot, a smile, and a small fin under its tummy.
Step 8: A little fish
Lower down on the right draw a small fish facing left: egg body, fan tail, eye and tummy fin.
Step 9: Bubbles
Above the little fish's tail draw 3 bubbles, small at the bottom and bigger going up.
Step 10: Legs and ground
Start under the stand and draw 2 short legs down. Draw a long ground line under them.
Step 11: Orange and yellow fish
Colour the big fish orange and the little fish yellow, leaving the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue water, sand gravel
Colour the water sky blue around the fish and plants, and the gravel sand yellow.
Step 13: Green plants, grey lid
Colour the plants green, and the lid and stand grey. Go over your lines and your aquarium is done.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an aquarium, drawn by you.
