How to Draw an Apron

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw an apron in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the skirt.

Print

  1. Step 1: The skirt

Low on your paper draw a wide skirt shape, narrow at the top and spreading out to a curved bottom.

Tip Leave room above it for the bib and the neck loop.

  2. Step 2: The bib

Just above the skirt draw a small box, narrower at the top than the bottom. This is the bib.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

On the skirt draw 2 big egg eyes, a little apart. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: The waistband

Between the bib and the skirt draw a flat band across, a little wider than the bib.

  6. Step 6: The neck loop

Draw a fat strap from one top corner of the bib, up and over in an arch to the other.

  7. Step 7: The ties

From each end of the waistband draw a thin tie that hangs down in a wavy S to a point.

  8. Step 8: Pocket and heart

On the skirt's lower right draw a small pocket with a tiny heart. Add 3 dots across the bib.

  9. Step 9: Sparkles

Draw 4 little sparkles in the air around the apron. Keep them small and not touching it.

  10. Step 10: Sky apron

Go over your lines, then colour the bib and skirt sky blue. Leave the eyes, cheeks, dots and pocket white.

  11. Step 11: Navy straps

Colour the waistband, the neck loop and the ties navy.

  12. Step 12: Red heart, pink cheeks

Colour the heart and the bib dots red and the cheeks pink. Your apron is ready for baking!
