How to Draw Best Friends
Draw best friends in 14 steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two heads.
Step 1: Two heads
Near the top, draw 2 egg heads side by side with a gap between, narrower at the chin.
Tip Keep the gap: they hold hands there. Leave the page below for bodies.
Step 2: The boy's face
On the left head, draw 2 eyes with black dots, a tiny nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.
Step 3: The girl's face
On the right head, draw 2 eyes with black dots, a tiny nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.
Step 4: The boy's hair
From the left side of the boy's head, draw 5 hair bumps over to the right side. Add a hairline.
Step 5: Fringe and pigtails
On the girl, draw hair over the head with a curved fringe, side to side. Add 2 big oval pigtails.
Step 6: Necks, T-shirt and dress
From each chin, draw a short neck, then the boy's T-shirt and the girl's dress, down to their hems.
Tip Both have short sleeves; the dress has a belt line at the waist.
Step 7: Arms
From each sleeve, draw an arm, bending at the elbow and getting thinner. Stop a little below the T-shirt.
Tip The inner arms make a V pointing down between the two kids.
Step 8: Holding hands
From each wrist, draw a mitten back to the arm. In the middle, the boy's mitten covers the girl's.
Tip Draw the boy's middle mitten first, then the girl's peeking out from behind it.
Step 9: Shorts and legs
From the T-shirt's bottom left, draw shorts over to its right. Under each kid, draw 2 legs that get thinner.
Step 10: Shoes and ground
Under each leg, draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Then draw one ground line under all the shoes.
Step 11: Peach skin
Colour both kids' faces, necks, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Yellow hair, red shoes
Colour the girl's hair yellow and all 4 shoes red.
Step 13: Green shirt, purple dress
Colour the T-shirt green and the dress purple.
Step 14: Brown hair, navy shorts
Colour the boy's hair brown and the shorts navy. Go over your lines and your best friends are done.
