How to Draw an Anvil
Draw an anvil in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle block.
Step 1: The middle block
Below the middle of your paper draw a box, a bit wider than tall, with sides leaning out.
Tip Leave room above for the wide top and below for the base.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes on the block. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The flat top
Start left of the block. Draw a long flat top across and back, stopping with the left end open.
Step 5: The horn
From the top-left end draw a thick horn out to a blunt point. Curve back under to the bottom end.
Step 6: The base
Under the block draw a wide box, wider than the block, with sides leaning out, down to the ground.
Step 7: Feet and ground
Draw an arch up from the bottom middle, so the base stands on 2 feet. Add a ground line.
Step 8: A sparkle
Above the right end of the top draw a small 4-point sparkle star.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkle
Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkle yellow.
Step 10: Grey anvil
Colour the whole anvil dark grey, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your anvil is done!
