How to Draw an Anthurium
Draw an anthurium in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the heart.
Step 1: The heart
Near the top of your paper draw a big heart, as big as your hand, point down.
Tip An anthurium flower is one shiny red heart with a yellow tail sticking up.
Step 2: The spike
From the dip in the heart draw a spike leaning a little right, wide at the bottom, round on top.
Step 3: A shine
Inside the left bump of the heart draw a thin curved sliver for a shine, following the edge.
Step 4: The stem
Start under the flower. Draw 2 close stem lines down, bowing slightly, stopping near the bottom of the paper.
Step 5: Left leaf
On the left, below the flower, draw a heart-shaped leaf, point down, leaning toward the stem.
Step 6: Right leaf
Draw another heart leaf on the right, a little lower, point down, leaning toward the stem.
Step 7: Leaf stems and veins
From low on the stem, curve a stem up to each leaf's point. Draw a vein from dip to point.
Step 8: Ground and grass
Draw a soft ground line through the bottom of the stem, stopping short of both edges. Flick up some grass.
Step 9: Red heart
Colour the heart bright red, leaving the shine white, and the spike yellow.
Step 10: Dark green leaves
Colour the leaves dark green and the stems green, and your anthurium is done!
