How to Draw an Amplifier
Draw an amplifier in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the box.
Step 1: The box
Low on your paper draw a big rounded box, wider than tall, a little above the floor.
Tip An amp is a chunky box that makes a guitar loud.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
On the lower half draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek under each eye.
Step 4: The grille
Draw a rounded box inside the lower part, going round the face, for the speaker grille.
Step 5: Panel and knobs
Draw a line across the box above the grille. On it draw 6 small knob circles and a tiny dot.
Step 6: The handle
Start on top of the box. Draw a low arch over, stopping on the top. Add an arch inside.
Step 7: Music notes
Draw 2 small music notes above the amp, one on each side of the handle.
Step 8: Feet and floor
Under each bottom corner draw a small rounded foot. Draw a floor line under the feet, wider than the box.
Step 9: Grey panel, tan grille
Go over your lines. Colour the panel light grey and the grille tan around the face. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Dark grey amp
Colour the box dark grey below the panel, around the grille. Colour the handle and feet dark grey too.
Step 11: Red light, pink cheeks
Colour the power light red and the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Black notes
Colour the 2 note heads black. Turn it up!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an amplifier, drawn by you.
