How to Draw an Acorn

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw an acorn in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the nut.

Print

  1. Step 1: The nut

Start on the left, above the middle. Draw a big egg down and round, then back up to the right.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

Above the middle of the nut, draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a black dot in each.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes, draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek just past each end.

  4. Step 4: The cap

Start just left of the nut. Draw a dome over the top. Stop just right of the nut.

  5. Step 5: The cap edge

From the left end of the cap, draw 5 shallow bumps across to the right end.

  6. Step 6: Stalk and leaf

From the top of the cap, draw a short stalk up to a round tip and back. Add a leaf.

  7. Step 7: Criss-cross cap

From the bumpy edge to the dome, draw 4 slanted lines one way, then 4 the other way.

  8. Step 8: The ground

Under the acorn, draw a soft ground line from well left of it to well right.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, tan nut

Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink, then the nut tan around the face. Leave the eyes white.

  10. Step 10: Brown cap, green leaf

Colour the cap and stalk brown, and the leaf green. Your acorn is done!
