How to Draw 3D Numbers

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw 3D numbers in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall 1.

Print

  1. Step 1: The tall 1

On the left draw a fat bubble 1: a tall stem, a short flag on top, a bar underneath.

Tip Block letters are fat bubble letters with a thick side, like a wooden block.

  2. Step 2: The 1's side

Copy the 1's edges up and right, from flag to bar. Join the ends and the corner with slanted lines.

Tip The slanted lines at the ends and the corner make the side look like a solid block.

  3. Step 3: The 1's face

On the 1's top draw 2 big round eyes with dots and shines, and a U smile under them.

  4. Step 4: The big 2

Next to the 1 draw a fat 2: curl over the top, swing down left, then a flat bar underneath.

  5. Step 5: The 2's side

Copy the 2's top and right edges a little up and right, then join the ends with slanted lines.

  6. Step 6: The 2's face

On the 2's top curl draw 2 big round eyes with dots and shines, and a U smile under them.

  7. Step 7: The big 3

Next to the 2 draw a fat 3: a curl down to the middle, then a bigger curl below.

  8. Step 8: The 3's side

Copy the 3's edges up and right, from top to bottom. Join the ends and the middle with slanted lines.

  9. Step 9: The 3's face

On the 3's top curl draw 2 big round eyes with dots and shines, and a U smile under them.

  10. Step 10: Floor and shadow

Draw a floor line from left to right under the numbers, and a flat oval shadow on it.

  11. Step 11: Grey sides, red 1

Colour all 3 thick sides and the shadow grey, then colour the 1 red. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Blue 2, green 3

Colour the 2 blue and the 3 green, leaving the eyes white. Your block numbers are done!
