12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a 3D cone in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two slanted sides.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two slanted sides

From a point near the top, draw 2 slanted lines, down left and down right. Stop low on the page.

Tip Make the sides long and straight, like a party hat.

  2. Step 2: The round bottom

Start at the end of the left side. Draw a smile curve and stop at the right side.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the middle of the cone draw 2 BIG egg eyes. Add a black dot in each with a shine.

  4. Step 4: A big smile

Under the eyes draw a big wide U smile from eye to eye, ends turning up.

  5. Step 5: Rosy cheeks

Beside each end of the smile, leaving a small gap, draw a small sideways oval cheek.

  6. Step 6: Sparkles on the left

On the left of the cone draw 2 small sparkle stars, one higher and one lower.

  7. Step 7: Sparkles on the right

Draw 2 more small sparkle stars on the right to match.

  8. Step 8: Shadow and floor

Draw a flat oval shadow round the cone's bottom. Add a floor line out from each side of it.

  9. Step 9: Yellow sparkles

    Colour the 4 sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Pink cheeks

    Colour both cheeks rosy pink.

  11. Step 11: Grey shadow

Colour the shadow under the cone grey.

  12. Step 12: Orange cone

Colour the cone orange, around the face and cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your 3D cone is done!
