How to Draw a Pentagonal Prism

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a pentagonal prism in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roof.

Print

  1. Step 1: The roof

Left of the middle, start at a top point. Slant a line down to each side, like a roof.

Tip A pentagon has 5 sides, all the same length.

  2. Step 2: Walls and bottom

From each roof end, slant down and a little in. Join the 2 ends with a flat bottom line.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the middle of the pentagon draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

  4. Step 4: Big smile

Leave a gap under the eyes, then draw a wide U smile from under one eye to the other.

  5. Step 5: Rosy cheeks

Under the outside of each eye, clear of the smile, draw a small sideways oval for a cheek.

  6. Step 6: The top side

From the top point slant a short line up right. Copy the right roof line, then join its corner.

Tip The back edge is the same length and slope as the roof line in front of it.

  7. Step 7: The right side

From that back corner, copy the right wall line down. Then slant a short line back to the bottom corner.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw 2 sparkle stars on each side of the prism, one high and one low.

  9. Step 9: Floor and shadow

Draw a thin flat oval shadow round the bottom of the prism. Add a floor line out from each end.

  10. Step 10: Yellow sparkles and top

Go over your lines. Colour the 4 sparkles and the top side of the prism yellow.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks, orange front

Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the pentagon front orange, around the face. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Grey shadow, red side

Colour the shadow grey and the right side red. Your pentagonal prism is done!
