How to Draw a Zip Line
Draw a zip line in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Above the middle, a little left of centre, draw an egg for the head.
Tip The boy is small because he is flying high above the ground.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes, a small U nose and a smile. Each C ear starts and ends on the head.
Step 3: Tufty hair
Start above the left ear. Draw soft tufts over the top and stop above the right ear. Add a hairline.
Step 4: The handle bar
Above the head, draw a long flat bar. From its middle, draw a short line up to a small wheel.
Step 5: Arms up
From below the head, draw each arm up to the bar, bending a little. Add mittens gripping the bar.
Step 6: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 short neck lines. From the neck, draw the T-shirt out, down, across, and back to the neck.
Step 7: Shorts, legs and sneakers
Under the shirt, draw shorts. From each leg hole, draw a leg getting narrower, down to a sneaker.
Step 8: Two posts
On the left, draw a tall thin post. On the right, draw a post half as tall.
Step 9: Cable and ground
From the tall post, draw a cable down to the short post, through the wheel. Add the ground.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Ginger hair, red sneakers
Colour the hair ginger and the sneakers red.
Step 12: Wooden posts, grey wheel
Colour the 2 posts and the handle bar wood brown, around the hands. Colour the wheel grey.
Step 13: Green shirt, navy shorts
Colour the T-shirt green and the shorts navy. Go over your lines and your zip line is done!
