How to Draw an Orangutan Face
Draw an orangutan face in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide head.
Step 1: Wide head
Draw one big wide head filling the page: a round top, huge flat cheek pads, and a broad chin.
Tip The cheek pads are part of the head outline: wide as a plate.
Step 2: Flat face
Inside the head, draw a tall oval face, well in from the cheek pads, its chin above the bottom.
Step 3: Two eyes
Above the middle of the face, draw 2 round eyes close together. Add black dots and shines.
Step 4: Nostrils
Below the eyes, colour 2 small nostril dots side by side.
Step 5: Wide smile
Under the nostrils, draw one wide U smile, from under one eye to under the other.
Step 6: Hair bumps
On top of the head, draw 3 soft hill bumps of hair. Rub out the head line under them.
Step 7: Double chin
Start low on one side of the face. Draw a soft U under its chin to the other side.
Tip Big orangutans have a soft round chin pouch.
Step 8: Rosy cheeks
Draw a little oval blush on each side of the face, under the eye, and colour it pink.
Step 9: Tan face
Colour the face tan, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Ginger fur
Colour the head, cheek pads, chin and hair ginger, around the face. Your orangutan is done!
