How to Draw a Collie
Draw a collie in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top draw a big upside-down egg for the head, wide at the cheeks and narrow at the chin.
Tip Leave room underneath for the body and legs.
Step 2: Tipped ears
On each top corner draw an ear standing up, its tip bent over outwards. Add a short fold line.
Tip Like 2 little folded flags.
Step 3: Two big eyes
A little above the middle of the head draw 2 eggy eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Long snout
From between the eyes draw 2 long lines curving down to the chin. Add a black nose above the chin.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose draw a short line down to a wide w smile. Hang a small tongue from its middle.
Step 6: The body
Start on the left cheek. Draw a big C out and down to the bottom. Do the right too.
Tip The body is a bit wider than the head.
Step 7: Fluffy ruff
Start under the left cheek. Draw a fluffy U of soft bumps down the chest, up to the right cheek.
Step 8: Front legs
Under the ruff draw 2 long U legs, from the ruff down to round paws at the bottom.
Step 9: Back paws and tail
Draw a flat paw in each bottom corner. From the right side draw a bushy tail with a tip line.
Step 10: Blaze and ground
Draw 2 lines from the head top down between the eyes to the snout. Add ground under the paws.
Step 11: White ruff
Colour the ruff, blaze, snout, paws and tail tip white. Keep the eyes white too.
Step 12: Pink tongue
Colour the tongue pink and go over the black nose.
Step 13: Ginger fur
Colour the head, ears, body and tail ginger, around all the white parts. Legs stay white.
