How to Draw a Cat Licking Paw

Draw a cat licking paw in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.

Step 1: Big head
Draw a big head: a wide egg with round cheeks, a little flatter on top.
Tip Leave room below it for the body.
Step 2: Pointy ears
Draw a pointy ear on each top corner of the head. Add a small triangle inside each one.
Step 3: Happy closed eyes
Draw 2 little rainbow curves for closed eyes. Start each one on the left and stop on the right.
Tip Curves that bend up like a rainbow make the cat look happy.
Step 4: Nose and smile
Under the eyes draw a triangle nose. Start below it and draw a short smile curve out to each side.
Tip Leave a small gap between the 2 curves for the tongue.
Step 5: Plump body
Draw a ground line. Start under each cheek and draw a big curve down to the ground.
Tip The body is about as wide as the head.
Step 6: Standing leg
From the chin draw a leg down to a paw and back up. Add a paw curve and 2 toes.
Tip The leg gets a little thinner just above the paw.
Step 7: Lifted paw
Draw the other front leg bending up from the tummy, with a round paw right under the nose.
Tip Draw a curve across the wrist. Rub out the chin and leg lines inside this leg.
Step 8: Pink tongue
Between the smile curves draw a small U tongue hanging onto the top of the paw.
Tip Rub out the paw line inside the tongue.
Step 9: Back paws
From each bottom corner of the body draw a small bun paw. Add a toe line to each.
Tip Rub out the body line inside each paw.
Step 10: Curly tail
On the left draw a thick tail along the ground, curling up and round to a round tip.
Step 11: Whiskers
Start on each cheek and draw 2 whiskers pointing out. Stop a little way from the head.
Step 12: Pink parts
Colour the nose, the tongue and the 2 ear middles pink.
Step 13: Orange coat
Colour the cat orange, around the pink parts. Leave all 4 paws white.
