How to Draw a Welding Helmet
Draw a welding helmet in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the shell.
Step 1: The shell
Draw a shield shape: round on top, long straight sides, then turning in a little to a wide flat chin.
Tip Make both sides match. Keep the chin wide.
Step 2: Window frame
Across the upper middle of the mask draw a wide box with rounded corners.
Step 3: The glass lens
Inside the box draw a smaller box, leaving an even border all round.
Step 4: Headband
Over the top of the mask draw a low curved band, from the left of the top to the right.
Step 5: Fold line
Under the window draw a straight line across the mask, from the left side to the right side.
Step 6: Lens shine
Inside the lens draw 2 short slanted lines side by side for the shine on the glass.
Step 7: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the chin, from left to right.
Step 8: Sparks
Draw 3 spark stars around the helmet: one top right, one left and one low on the right.
Step 9: Yellow sparks
Colour the 3 sparks yellow.
Step 10: Grey shell
Colour the mask grey around the window. Leave the window white for now.
Step 11: Green lens
Colour the glass lens dark green.
Step 12: Dark frame and band
Colour the border round the lens and the headband dark grey. Your welding helmet is done!
